Fernandes is considering a huge move to the Saudi Pro League, with the club prepared to pay him £200 million over three years. The Manchester United skipper is still deciding on whether to accept the £700,000 per week offer, with Portuguese compatriot Neves hoping he makes the move.

Portugal and Al-Hilal midfielder Neves told A Bola: "I recommend all the players in the national team, of course. Portugal has produced a lot of talent and continues to do so. We are a lucky country in that respect. We are also very hard-working. A very small country but one that has produced excellent players. I would like to have any player from the national team in my team."

Fernandes held face-to-face talks with Al-Hilal officials in Riyadh this week, with Mail Sport sources citing a "positive" meeting. He claimed after United's Europa League final defeat that he would leave if the club want to "cash in" on him.
