Mamardashvili has been performing at a very high level for Valencia since his move to the La Liga side in 2021 from Dinamo Tbilisi, originally on loan. However, it was at Euro 2024 that the 23-year-old goalkeeper truly shone as he pulled off a solid tournament for Georgia and led the side to the last 16.

Los Che have been looking to make sales this summer with their economic troubles constantly worsening and as such it had been reported that Newcastle United and Liverpool are interested in the 23-year-old. As per Spanish publication Super Deporte, Liverpool are now in 'pole position' to complete the signing as the Reds look to line up a long-term replacement for the ageing Alisson Becker.
DID YOU KNOW?
Earlier in the summer, it had been reported that Valencia were asking for a reported fee of €45 million (£38.6m/$49.1m) for the Euro 2024 star. However, after a lack of interest shown at that price point, the report has suggested that Liverpool could acquire the Georgian for a lower price with Los Che desperate to make sales.
WHAT NEXT FOR MAMARDASHVILI?
The 23-year-old was not a part of Valencia's matchday squads so far this summer. However, with him having joined training last week it is possible that Mamardashvili could appear in Los Che's final pre-season friendly against Frankfurt on Saturday evening.
