It was quite a week for former Premier League striker Carlos Tevez after he capped a fine European performance with another winning goal in Serie A just days later.
His brace against Borussia Dortmund sealed Juventus’ passage through to the last eight of the Champions League, while his superb strike against Genoa ensured the Italian giants look set to secure another Serie A title with a huge 14-point-gap between them and their nearest rivals Roma.
The 31-year-old has been an instrumental part of the success of Juventus this season, and with 24 goals to his name the Argentine looks back to his best and is clearly enjoying his football once again.
Despite impressing at Old Trafford during his two years at the Manchester United, Tevez left the Red Devils after rejecting the opportunity to turn his loan spell into a permanent deal with the club unable to guarantee him regular first-team football. Back-to-back Premier League titles as well as a Champions League trophy was a great return for his services none the less.

He then helped city rivals Manchester City to a first Premier League title after signing in 2009, and once again showed his value with 73 goals in 148 appearances. However, the famous incident in a Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich where he allegedly refused to warm up, seemed to tarnish his relationship with Roberto Mancini and he parted the club in 2013 moving to Juventus.
Now in his second season in Italy, Tevez has established himself as a key part of the Juventus side that could well be the dark horse for this season’s Champions League. Having drawn Monaco in the quarter-finals, they are expected to make it through to the last four and with Tevez in his current form have a great opportunity to do so.
However despite the Juve man seemingly enjoying life in Turin, there have been plenty of question marks surrounding his future in recent weeks.
Premier League side West Ham are said to be very keen on securing a deal for their former striker who spent a season at Upton Park back in 2006, where he became a fans favourite as he helped the Hammers beat the drop with some vital goals.
But if latest reports are to be believed, Tevez will be heading back to his native Argentina this summer with a verbal agreement in place with Boca Juniors; another of the strikers former clubs.
It seems a strange move for a player who is seemingly back on top form, and with a year left on his current contract at Juventus they will be keen to keep hold of their star striker.
However he has made no secret of his desire to return to Argentina one day, and if he decides the time is right this summer, the Italian champions may well cash in on him while they can.
Whatever the future holds for Tevez, it’s just great to see him back at his best and scoring the type of goal that saw him flourish during his time in England. Whether he will return to the Premier League for one more stint remains to be seen, but in current form he’s sure to have plenty of teams after him should he wish to leave Juventus this summer.
