As reported by Italian outlet SNAI Sportsnews, Arsenal have made contact with Juventus about the transfer of winger Juan Cuadrado ahead of a potential switch this summer.
What’s the story?
After signing a new contract at the Gunners, Arsene Wenger is on the hunt for players he feels can turn Arsenal into a title-winning force from the mediocrity they suffered last-term.
It appears that the Frenchman has found one of the players he wants to add a spark to his established line-up at the Emirates.
SNAI Sportsnews reckon that Arsenal have already made contact with Juventus about bringing Juan Cuadrado back to London after an unsuccessful spell at Chelsea saw him join the Serie A giants permanently just last month.
The report says that he could be available for around £22m despite that transfer, due to their interest in Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa.
What does he offer?
Despite failing to make the grade at Chelsea, Cuadrado has proved on loan at Juventus over the last two seasons that he is capable of performing at an elite level. He’s a key part of the set-up there, making 85 appearances.
He was also a key part of the team that made its way to the UEFA Champions League final last season, making 12 appearances in the competition.
Arsenal could really do with someone with that experience in attack next season and have been looking for an effective and consistent option on the right flank for a while now. At 29 years of age, Cuadrado is coming into his prime and could be that man.
