Leeds United midfielder Lewis Baker was recalled from his loan spell at Elland Road by parent club Chelsea this week after a disappointing six months in the Championship, but is now set to be given another chance to prove his quality after being snapped up by another second tier outfit, Reading.
The 23-year-old didn’t really contribute to the Peacocks’ battle to the top of the table, as he failed to either score or assist in his 11 appearances under Marcelo Bielsa and came under fire from the fans on many occasion for his apathetic showings.
Chelsea were clearly unimpressed by his development with the league leaders as they terminated his loan early, although now the Blues academy graduate will begin a new chapter at the Madejski Stadium, where he will be fighting to keep his side up rather than to win the title.
Leeds fans certainly don’t feel too aggrieved by the recall, as they slated the Englishman for his attitude on Twitter – you can check out the best of the reaction below…
