Initially, Tottenham had agreed a €60 million (£50m/$62m) fee with Bayern for Tel. However, the 19-year-old was hesitant and preferred to explore other options, with Manchester United also in the running. However, the Red Devils eventually decided to step back from negotiations, leaving Tel with limited alternatives. As a result, the French forward accepted Tottenham’s follow-up loan offer, which runs until the end of the season and also includes a purchase option set at €55 million (£45.7m, $56.9m).

Kane, who left Tottenham for Bayern in 2023, had nothing but praise for his former club when discussing the move with Tel.
Speaking to Spurs' official media channels, the teenager revealed: "He told me that this is a big club with a lot of very good people, the stadium is very nice, the training centre is very good and if you go there you will enjoy it. Everything was positive from Harry Kane."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Ange Postecoglou also reportedly played a key role in persuading Tel to make the move. The Tottenham manager engaged in extensive discussions with the player on the final day of the transfer window, outlining how he would fit into Tottenham’s attacking setup. Spurs had been monitoring Tel for some time, even attempting to sign him before selling Kane to Bayern Munich. However, at the time, the German champions refused to let him go, believing he had a bright future at the Allianz Arena.
